and child injury. The program builds empathy among all family mem-
bers. When empathy is high among family members, abuse and child
injury is low. The Nurturing Programs provide parenting and much
needed re-parenting while building positive, healthy interactions be-
tween family members as an appropriate key to reducing family vio-
lence. Re-parenting of the often times abused, neglected, abandoned
and frightened parents helps the adults feel good about themselves
and stand a better chance of being nurturing parents.
